 Remember coloring freely when you were a kid? Sips & Scribbles is an event for adults that want to feel that again! At this event you’ll color your very own customized, Y2K coloring page based on your favorite things from the early 2000’s while getting to hang in a cool spot with other peeps. Come with a friend, alone, and/or with headphones! This event will be a chill time to destress and have fun.

Details: Sunday, September 8th, 12:30-2pm @ Mi Barrio Nutrition in DT Durham (105 W Morgan St #103, Durham, NC 27701).

What comes with my ticket?

🎟️(1) Reserved spot for our Sept 8th event 

✍🏼(1) 8.5x11” Printed custom, hand illustrated coloring page (think: size of printer paper)

🎨 Day-of Coloring materials provided (don’t worry about bringing your own!)

🎁 A thank you gift (always changes, in the past I’ve done: postcards, zines, etc) 

How it works:

Browse the available illustrations and pick your 10 favorite to create your coloring page. Add this product to your cart. At checkout, you’ll see a notes section, type the 10 items (mentioning the number/ name of the illustration) you want me to include on your coloring page. Include your email too. OR you can also purchase this ticket, leave the notes section blank, and email me your list✨.

 And that’s it! once I have your list, I’ll start working on your personalized coloring page, print it, and bring it to Mi Barrio on the Sept. 8th so we can all color ours together!💖

This is a ticketed event, you must complete your order to reserve your spot. You will receive your ticket via email a couple of days before the event date 🎟️.

Who are you?

Hey, I’m Marina, a multi media artist & event coordinator based in Durham, NC. I’ve felt a pull to host my own events centered on connection & inner child healing. You will be part of my Sips & Scribbles events which are so special ✨

What’s the parking situation like?

The parking garage next to Mi Barrio + downtown street parking (unless signs state otherwise) are free on the weekends. 

Do I have to walk up a flight of stairs?

Yes! We will be on the 2nd floor of Mi Barrio.  

What’s the dress code?

There isn’t one! Dressing up is encouraged, I mean….Y2K fashion is iconic! But your comfort matters most, so come in whatever makes you feel good…shorts, tank top, full Bratz outfit, you do you!

Are drinks/food included with my ticket?

Nope! But the bar will be open during the event for you to order while you color. I’ll send the menu with closer to the event since Mi Barrio is creating a menu for us💫.

Why should I attend this event?

Hmmmmmmmm because it will be new and fun. You can find a coloring sheet anywhere but coloring in one that’s tailored to you is an ethereal experience.

Plus, Mi Barrio is a NEW, Chicana owned spot in DT Durham centered on community and connection (how cool is that?). You can color and forget your long to-do list, meet new people (or listen to your music unbothered) and try some good ass drinks (I recommend the Vanilla Chai w/ Protein Powder 🤤). It’s the perfect event to attend on a Summer day. 

Also…it’s Latine Heritage Month…so support local, Latine, and Chicana 🇻🇪🇲🇽

What should I bring?

Your rad self and maybe a hoodie. We will be sitting inside for this event. 

Can I get extra copies of my page?

YUP! You can order copies of your sheet HERE ($5 ea)

What is the refund policy?

Since each coloring page will be custom illustrated and the event is limited to 15 attendees, tickets cannot be refunded. If you cannot make it to the event last minute, send me a message and we can discuss shipping options for your coloring page (shipping is not included with this ticket and will be an additional charge)

Important: please make sure I have your list a week before the event, at the latest!. I need a minimum of 4 days to create and print your page.
